"The central vulva-rose sculpture may be seen as an experimental synthesis of the two artists’ conceptions of ‘home’ and ‘femininity’. The flower, which may serve as a major hint throughout this exhibition, offers a sense of continuity and familiarity that domestic items produce in a domestic environment in Lihong’s work, and serves as an essential emblem of the vulva and woman’s intrinsic agency in Meichen’s art."
